Just how your grandma's basement looks. Very friendly, cozy, GoPackGo bar, with fun Wisconsin favorites on tap. On game days, you buy two drink tickets at the door as Kettle's "cover." On big game days, get their early and know you'll wait. But wisco folk make it worth it.
best wisconsin bar I have been to in nyc.
If you're looking for a unique bar with plenty of character in the West Village, look no further. Of course, it should be noted that the particular flavor of character at Kettle of Fish may not be for everyone: the owners are Midwestern transplants from Wisconsin and the bar serves as a haven for others who have escaped to New York from the Midwest. Here amid the dive-bar vibe, you'll find plenty of Green Bay Packers paraphernalia strewn about, two dart boards, arcade games, and an unpretentious vibe. Football fans should be warned, though; the wait to get in during a Packers game, especially during the playoffs, can begin to resemble the line at clubbing venues found elsewhere in the neighborhood. That said, get there early and enjoy the taste of (a Midwestern) "home"--they serve brats!
Kettle of Fish, pray to whatever deity you want, but ask that this place lasts forever. Just great old school NYC. Great bartenders, good beer selection, good crowd, and if you're a Packers fan, welcome to your new home. Stop in, show some love.
Epic Packer bar. Not just in NY, anywhere. Amazing crowd, good TV's and seating. Great beer selection at fair prices. Brats are perfect. Real deal. Every Packer fan should get to go here.
Green Bay Packer bar in NYC. Great place to watch the game with an awesome crowd!
Great dive bar. Kind of expensive but average for the Village. 5$ bottled domestic beer. Lots of games to play and plenty of great sitting.
Awesome packers bar. When i'm back in NYC I will be there for every game!
Great owners and bartenders
It's a decent dive bar in a basement. Not bad.
What more could u want than a great dive bar
Always a fun atmosphere and great place to stop for a beer. Also always love being able to play a game of darts here!
We came to the bar for the Packers game, arrived 1.5 hours early to make sure we had a seat. When we got inside most of the seats were being saved for people didn't have to wait in line. We intended to sit at the bar but someone saved over half the seats. We found a seat, luckily (in the backroom)! We did have a good time, but next game we will send someone to stand in line at 6 AM so we can sit at the bar!We did have a good time!
Quiet spot to meet up with small groups. Decent beer/drinks selection. Located downstairs, good place to have a conversation.
As a USAF Veteran, I visited this establishment Friday, November 22 with another Veteran and 2 friends. We were wearing MAGA hats and the owner of the place approached us and asked us to "Pretend like this is Church and please remove your hats". We looked around and saw many people wearing hats, so we agreed to take off our hats if everyone removed theirs. That apparently was NOT an option, and the bartender promptly stopped serving us. When Veterans are disrespected in such a fashion, the establishment is NOT worth patronizing. So incredibly sad to see this going on in America! Absolutely disgusting on all levels!!
Great Green bay Packer bar right in NYC!!! Fun crowd and great way to watch a game!
Great for group of friends!
Love it. Great atmosphere for all LGBTQI. P.S theres a update bar and downstairs one.
The best packer bar in the city! Even Aaron Rodgers agrees!
What Pat Daley has done with Kettle of Fish is incredible. This historic bar was taken over by Wisconsin natives and now is the best Packer bar in town. The friendliest staff, reasonable prices, and unbeatable local atmosphere. A must-stop for travelers and locals alike.
Normal bar with a relaxed vibe. A great escape from the Santacon day revelers.
Was the most rude service I ever received. Food was not worth the money and beer was skunked. They denied the beer being bad. Will never eat here again and will tell my friends to spread the word
Absolutely cozy dive in the heart of the West Village. I'm someone who was raised drinking in Irish pubs and "old man bars" in northern New Jersey and I really don't feel comfortable in a loud club atmosphere, and the first time I set foot here I immediately felt right at home. The decor is fun and eclectic and the clientele is just plain folks enjoying a laid back atmosphere and pleasant, talkative bartenders. The vibe is very homey and I will absolutely be visiting frequently in the future.Despite appearances, the Kettle offers a great draft list including a few local brews, a great choice of bottled, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a selection of quality wines on offer as well. What a gem!
I came here with a Seahawks hat, and the owner gave me a hard time but did not make me remove my hat or leave. The owner knows Russell Wilson went to Wisconsin and is a better quarterback. The owner is very hospital. Go hawks
Warm, friendly bar with a neighborhood vibe. Green Bay Packer fans this place is a must to visit when you're in NYC.
All things Wisconsin! Packers, Badgers, Brewers â¤
my cheeseburger had a bite taken out of when i got it. when I complained the waitress yelled at me
Best place in NYC for a packers game and simply drinks, get there early!
This bar is the greatest gem in the West Village. The owners are so kind and hospitable. The spot is notorious for being a Packers bar (Aaron Rodgers has visited), but regardless of your NFL allegiance, this bar will quickly become your home away from home. The staff are fun and generous (Shout-out to Tara and Terry, the greatest bartenders in the game). Come here and you will not be disappointed in the service and the vibe. The drinks are reasonably priced for a Manhattan watering hole, too. I honestly only have positive things to say about this NYC treasure.
I love KoF! Totally awesome atmosphere, extremely accessible from the trains, and nothing beats seeing folks who meant to stumble in to Stonewall instead try to figure out what the heck is going on! Really great drink list and reasonable prices for the village. $10 card minimum is easy to meet with two drinks. Friendly patrons and lots of seating in the back. Can get crowded sometimes but it’s always a worthwhile pursuit.
Great village bar. Good prices all the time, friendly owners (especially if you let them know you’re from Wisconsin!). It’s a large space with darts, places to sit, and a pinball machine or two. During football season it’s a Packers bar on game days. Best one in NYC!
Accidentally stumbled on this bar just when I was complaining that I wanted to go home. A true Wisconsin bar in NYC. Very fun and nice to feel at home in the big apple.
Really is a little slice of "up nort" right here in southern Manhattan. Got some Wisco favorites on the beer list, and the ceiling, well, it's got the bumper stickers you'd expect.
I don't remember much of it but the parts I do remember were fun.
One of the best places to visit in NYC. Came in for Thanksgiving and was treated like family. The staff and the atmosphere makes you forget you are in the busy city. Highly highly recommend going here for a drink or two. Even better if you are a Packer and Badger fan. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Love this place.
Neighborhood institution with a Cheers feel. Perfect spot!
If you're a Brewers or Packers fan, this is THE bar in NYC for you. This is the only bar in NYC dedicated to Wisconsin sports and is a great spot to watch the games with fellow fans. The back room usually has the game on with sound
Lovely bar really let down by foreboding, grumpy old gits. Avoid, as there are plenty of other Irish pubs
went here during a literary pub crawl. Really great ambience in this bar with a fun history
Cozy, welcoming basement bar. Shows Wisconsin sports.
Best place to watch a Packers Gane outside if Lambeau
Best place to be in the village
Nice bar. The bartender looked like he couldn’t be bothered greeting let alone serving the three of us. Lousy vibe. Won’t return.
The bartenders and owner-operators have always been courteous and generous whether it's jam-packed or peaceful. The crowds have been diverse and friendly. 6 stars if I could! Decent spot for darts, too, I hear... Maybe one day...Highly recommend dippin in!
The worst service I've ever seen! To go out of your way to treat customers with blatant disrespect is unprofessional and out right disgusting.
I went to this place with a date on a Friday night. We ordered a couple burgers and beers. The meat tasted spoiled and bad. When I complained we were asked to leave. Horrible experience.
Great Wisconsin bar. They are inconsistent about having a cover for Packers games, but the $12 cash cover comes with two beer tickets. They have a good selection of beer and serve regular and veggie brats. They sell out too quickly though and the bartenders can be a little gruff. I guess that's to be expected. The whole place is a rough U shape so it's difficult to find seating or standing room even though there are several tables in the back. The bathroom is entirely too small and is lacking privacy but that's just a dive bar I guess.
Amazing place!! Cozy, atmospheric, servers are very polite and professional. Very clean, very good choice of music. Prices are very affordable. I think it's the best hidden gem in area. Definitely coming back again and bring some close friends with us.
Pat and A are the most welcoming, the service outstanding and the atmosphere so fun!
Super chill spot. Very friendly.
